uCForth
Up until recently, Colour Vision development was all done on a custom Forth OS known as ColdForth. The Forth operating system was designed for the Coldfire processor from Motorola, and enables hard real time tasks to be performed, with minimal memory requirements.
Work at Colour Vision is now being done under uClinux, however in order to allow the huge bulk of existing code to be used under this OS, Coldforth has been ported to uclinux (uCForth) . This now offers the first stand alone development environment that can run under uClinux. The manuals for uCForth can be found at the locations shown below........
Quickstart
Download this file (ucf) and this
script file (forth) place both files in your execution path for uClinux
(ie /bin) and then type forth. That's it!
This has currently been tested with the 5272 and the 5407, and it should
work with all Coldfire processors. Feedback welcome!
